LUCKY ESCAPE FOR MOTORCYCLIST IN HEAD-ON BRIDE’S POOL ROAD SMASH

Mr Lam was headed towards Tai Mei Tuk on Bride’s Pool Road at 7.54am when he crossed into the path of an oncoming car

A motorcyclist who struck a car head-on in a high-speed crash on Bride’s Pool Road this morning walked away refusing medical treatment, according to police.

Video footage shows Mr Lam, 40, coming around a sharp bend in the wrong carriageway and slamming into the car, driven by Mr Leung, 46. But police say the rider wouldn’t accept help and the case is considered closed.

There have been two deaths on Bride’s Pool Road in the last month: 20-year-old Mr Leung, whose sports car smashed into a lamppost on 14 December, and 52-year-old teacher Chris Hattam, who suffered a heart attack while riding his road bike on 15 December.
