Mr Smith suffered multiple injuries after being trapped under a heavy dump truck

A 38-year old man crushed by a dump truck in Kowloon Bay on Thursday died in hospital yesterday afternoon.

The man, described by police as “a foreigner” and named as Mr Smith, was riding a motorcycle along Kai Cheung Road towards Mong Kok on Thursday afternoon when he reportedly rammed the kerb and fell under the heavy construction truck, driven by Mr Yu, 55.

Smith was trapped under the heavy truck, and rescued by fire crews. He was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital but never regained consciousness and died around 26 hours later.

Police say nobody was arrested in connection with the crash.
