Police have arrested a second woman linked to Saturday’s fatal Sha Tin bus smash, a day after she turned herself in to authorities.
Dashcam footage had shown Ms Wong, 29, driving her black saloon through a red light just seconds before another car, a white Audi, ploughed into the side of a public light bus crossing the junction.
That crash took the life of the bus driver, 57-year-old Mr Cheung, with police arresting the Audi driver, Ms Chi, 33, for dangerous driving causing death.
Wong reported to a local police station on Monday as the dashcam footage went viral, but was not arrested.
But on Tuesday afternoon police arrested her for dangerous driving. Wong was released on bail and is due to report back in mid-July.
Some netizens defended both Wong and Chi, claiming the traffic light filter is difficult to understand. Others have called for a redesign for the blackspot junction, claiming Transport Department has been too slow to act given a wave of accidents at the site over the last 10 years.
