Police arrested a 50-year-old tour bus driver after he ran over and killed a pedestrian on a Mong Kok crossing
A 51-year-old man was killed on a pedestrian crossing today in Mong Kok this afternoon, with video footage revealing a tour bus making an illegal left turn onto a green-man crossing.
The victim, Mr Cho, was crossing Hoi Wang Road at 12:05pm when a tour bus driven by 50-year-old Mr Lau turned left illegally from Hoi Ting Road onto the crossing.
Lau ran over Cho and continued for some distance before stopping, leaving the victim dying on the street.
Medics rushed Cho to Kwong Wah Hospital where he was pronounced dead just under an hour after the crash.
Police arrested Lau for dangerous driving causing death.
