PUSH THE BUTTON CITIZEN DATA LAB

Transit Jam’s citizen data event Push The Button will took place on Friday 30 October at 10.30am.

Push The Button was a workshop introduction to gathering citizen data using simple smartphone tools; the aim is to build a network of citizens collecting data on pavement obstructions. The techniques taught at this meeting will also help users create their own easy “one touch” reporting and data gathering projects, for example reporting illegal parking, garbage dumping etc.

For the data gathering, we use If This Then That (IFTTT) a popular workflow automator. Participants wishing to get the most from the event will need a free IFTTT account from ifttt.com and the IFTTT app on their smartphone.
