POLICE SEEK CLUES IN DRIVER DEATH MYSTERY

Police are trying to track down the cause of death after a man was found unconscious with head injuries in a parked car on a highway and later died.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver found unconscious with head injuries in a car on San Tin Highway later died in hospital.

The man, Mr Law, 33, was found in an undamaged parked car, on the highway near the roundabout exit to Fairview Park, at 11.30pm on 21 May,  He was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital, where he died a few days later on 25 May.

Police classified the case as a fatal traffic accident but do not know how the man was injured. Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is underway, and anyone with information should call investigating officers on 3661 3800.

A total of 4,312 people were killed or injured on Hong Kong’s roads in the first four months of 2020. Drivers accounted for just 8.6% of all those killed or seriously injured in 2019, according to Transport Department figures.
