A crackdown on overloaded trucks in New Territories South saw eight HKTV Mall trucks fined amongst 16 trucks caught today.

Police arrested another truck driver for driving a “severely overloaded” truck, with his vehicle impounded, while four others were let off for being only “slightly overloaded”.

Eleven, including the HKTV Mall eight, were given fixed penalty tickets.

Police added that while the drivers can be fined or convicted, owners of overloaded trucks may also be prosecuted and fined. No such action was taken today.

HKTV Mall has around 350 trucks and boasted 461,000 unique customers in June 2021, delivering around 24,000 orders per day in the first quarter of 2021.
