Police arrested a drunk truck driver after a fatal crash in Tuen Mun last night killed a 50-year-old passenger.
36-year-old Mr Yeung was driving along Tuen Fu Road, northbound, when he reportedly lost control, flipped the truck and rammed into barriers.
A 50-year-old male passenger, Mr Ng, was trapped inside the truck and was rescued by firemen. He was certified dead at the scene.
Yeung was arrested for drink driving and dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
There were 1,478 reported casualties from van and truck crashes in 2020, with passengers making up one in five of the casualties.
