West Kowloon police arrested eight men and three women aged between 28 and 50 during a two-day traffic operation over the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.
Police say they patrolled expressways in “stealth” vehicles with a focus on illegal street racing and speeding.
But they also uncovered other crimes, arresting a man for trafficking dangerous drugs, one woman for possessing dangerous drugs and two men and a woman for driving while suspended, among other offences.
The other six arrested were caught for drink driving.
At the same time, police found a total of eight private cars suspected to have been illegally modified for racing, including illegal exhaust systems, rear spoilers and modified steering wheels. One car was found with a cracked windshield.
All those cars were towed and taken to the Kowloon Bay Vehicle Impound and Inspection Centre.
123 speeding tickets will also be issued, police say.
