只需將以下資料電郵至data@transitjam.com即可:

CITY2TRAIL: HONG KONG’S 1ST TRAIL DISCOVERY CONTEST

* Crowdsourcing routes connecting city and trail

* Use TrailWatch, GPS route tools, photos with markup to help describe your route to win prizes!

* Email data@transitjam.com by 31 December

Hong Kong has some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the world, through mountains, valleys and forests, and many are within a striking distance of major public transport nodes

Many Hong Kong trails were created well before automobiles. They can be found on old photographs of our denuded hills when trees were still used for fire wood.

Some trails are now impassable to the average hiker. Others lost their head or tail due to slope works, road widening or reclamation. There are also new routes being forged by adventurous hikers, or simply because they offer short-cuts to new roads or developments, often marked by little strings or ribbons tied to branches.

City2Trail, Hong Kong’s first Trail Discovery Contest, will crowdsource routes connecting urban centres with trails, seeking those long-forgotten or unmarked routes. We hope to create a platform for residents’ visions and forge new routes together.

We will present these routes to relevant government departments and bureaux for investment in wayfinding and any minimal but necessary enhancement works.

Taking part

Email your route connecting the city to our nature. The real prize will be convincing government to recognise and designate your routes as trails to be signposted, protected and reserved when any future work is undertaken. And yes, we will approach sponsors for some cool prizes for route designers too! We already have 100 special T8 socks to give-away and two $1000 vouchers from Gone Running and more coming!

  • The aim is to identify linking routes for hiking, walking and jogging which need care, reinstatement, repairs, enhancement or simply some signage to mark a trail head.
  • Routes should start at an MTR exit, bus stop or other landmark and connect with a well-recognised trail or path (https://www.hiking.gov.hk/trail), or back to the city.

Deadline 31 December 2021

Entry deadline is midnight (HKT) on 31 December 2021. Prizes will be announced in February 2022.
