TAXI DRIVER DIES AFTER BUS SMASH

A taxi driver died after a collision with a bus on Tung Lung Road today

A 69-year-old man died this afternoon (29 March) after he smashed his taxi into a stationary bus in Wong Tai Sin. At around 2:23pm, the taxi was travelling north along Tung Lung Road, a one-way street, when the vehicle rammed into the parked bus outside Tung Tau (II) Estate Wet Market.

Medics rushed the driver to Kwong Wah Hospital unconscious, but he could not be saved and was certified dead at 3:10pm.

The Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon East is investigating. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has any information to offer should call the investigating officers on 2305 7500 or 2305 7570.

The accident is the 23rd fatality on Hong Kong’s streets in 2020.
