An angry truck driver tried to run over a traffic warden with his 5.5 tonne truck after the warden tried to ticket the illegally parked vehicle on Queen’s Road Central this lunchtime.

According to police, the traffic warden was attempting to ticket the truck when driver Mr Kwok, 59, drove into him and then tried to leave the scene.

Witnesses at the scene say Kwok was angry and belligerent and attempted to escape police who were trying to detain him. Police arrested Kwok for assaulting a public official and say he is still in custody. Ambulance crews rushed injured traffic warden, conscious, to Queen Mary Hospital.
