DELIVEROO RIDER DIES IN CENTRAL MOTORCYCLE SMASH

The crash happened just after midnight near the exclusive Four Seasons Hotel in Central district

A Deliveroo rider on his way home at the end of a shift died after reportedly losing control of his motorbike and crashing into a verge in Central last night.

Mr Singh, 44, was travelling from the Central-Wan Chai Bypass tunnel just after midnight, apparently just off his shift, and was passing the Four Seasons Hotel when the crash happened.

Police say no other vehicles were involved but that a driver witnessed the crash and rushed to help Singh, who was reportedly trapped under the bike. The rider died in hospital about 90 minutes later without regaining consciousness.

Singh’s dinner was strewn across the highway, along with his two Deliveroo thermal delivery bags, one still folded and unused.

Deliveroo has been contacted for comment.

Takeout food and one of Mr Singh’s two thermal delivery bags strewn across the shoulder after the crash.
