DEADLY HALLOWEEN: TAI PO CYCLIST IS 3RD ROAD VICTIM IN 8 HOURS

Details of the latest road death are still emerging, but police say a cyclist has died after an incident near the fire station on Ting Kok Road

A cyclist is reported dead after a crash on Ting Kok Road in Tai Po, marking a deadly day on Hong Kong’s roads with a total of two cyclists and one hiker dead.

Details on the latest fatality are still emerging.

But police say Mr Cheung, 57, was cycling on the cycle track and involved in a fatal crash near the fire station at 68 Ting Kok Road – the incident was reported at 5:52pm today and Cheung was pronounced dead at around 7pm in Prince of Wales Hospital.

Cheung becomes the third victim of road violence today. A cyclist was killed on Lantau this morning when he was hit by a bus as the driver attempted to overtake. And this afternoon a private car driver ran over a hiker at the intersection of Shek O Road and the Hong Kong Trail. The hiker died shortly afterwards in hospital.
