Clean-up crews load the victim’s body into the coroner’s van. Inset: the coach involved in the deadly crash, found 20 minutes away at a school in Sui Sai Wan
Police arrested a 31-year-old school coach driver for leaving the scene of a crash after a 29-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision in Sheung Wan this morning.
Motorcyclist Mr Ho was driving from the Western Harbour Crossing towards Central when he was involved in a collision with the “Chelsea FC”-branded school coach, driven by Mr Kwan.
A taxi driver who witnessed the tragedy told local media he had tried to alert the coach driver after the smash but to no avail.
Ho was declared dead at the scene, while police tracked down coach driver Kwan in Sui Sai Wan, about a 20 minute drive from the site of the fatal crash.
Kwan was arrested for leaving the scene and failing to report the crash. Police were seen inspecting the rear wheel of the coach for evidence, with eye witnesses claiming that wheel had crushed the young motorcyclist.
